McCain's Campaign Manager, Freddie Mac Connection
Senator McCain's, most recent personally approved, political advertisement accused Senator Obama of taking advice from a former Freddie Mac CEO, Jim Johnson, who resigned in June 2008 after being accused of collecting $7+ million in home loans, below average interest rates. McCains, current campaign manager, Rick Davis, who served for years lobbying for Freddie Mac and Fannie Mae, was defended as recently as Sunday, September 21, 2009; by Senator McCain as not having anything to do with these companies. Both companies hold mortgage loans ($12 trillion) for nearly half of USA's combined mortgages. In the past ten years over $200 million spent in to buy influence. "In July 2003, Davis wrote to the American Banker, taking issue with an opinion piece by Leslie Paige of Citizens Against Government Waste, arguing that Fannie and Freddie should operate with greater transparency." Kevin Davis, has been receiving cash benefits of at least $15,000 a month, from Freddie Mac via cloaking under firm "Davis & Manafort" from 2000 until Federal bailout takeover. |
